The
Environmental Compliance Specialistensures adherence to environmental regulations on an active construction site. This role involves managing environmental permits, overseeing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and collaborating with the construction team to uphold environmental standards.
- Develop and implement programs ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct on-site inspections to monitor stormwater BMPs, erosion control, and permit adherence.
- Identify and address environmental performance concerns and potential violations.
- Maintain documentation and generate compliance reports for regulatory submissions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to project teams.
- Provide training on environmental policies and permit requirements.
- Work with contractors to ensure environmental compliance.
- Audit environmental management plans, including stormwater, SPCC, waste, and air quality.- 5+ years in environmental compliance, preferably in Oil & Gas
- Strong understanding of
environmental regulations
(e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, EPA guidelines).
- Experience securing and managing
environmental permits
(air, water discharge, wetlands protection).
- Knowledge of compliance tracking systems.
- Preferred Experience:
Working on FERC-regulated projects and with TCEQ compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Office-based with frequent field visits to active construction sites.
- Requires physical movement, including walking construction sites for inspections.
- Occasional exposure to construction-related hazards.
