About This Job

~ Your American Fabrication Partner ~

Since 1995, Creative Metal Products (CMP) has been a trusted partner in metal fabrication. As a privately held, growth-oriented company, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative, high-quality products with speed and precision. From individual components to full assemblies, our team serves a wide range of industries with a focus on light- to medium-thickness metals.

We are seeking a Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to champion health, safety, and compliance across both our Neenah and Oshkosh facilities. This role is key to maintaining a safe and productive work environment by developing programs, conducting training, managing compliance reporting, and supporting our operations leaders. The right candidate will set the tone for safety accountability and help drive a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership & Culture

- Walk the production floor daily to establish a visible, proactive safety presence and provide hands-on support.

- Conduct regular toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings that promote employee engagement and ownership.

- Transform the culture of safety leadership from top-down compliance to personal accountability and team ownership.

- Partner with leadership and employees to embed safety into daily practices and decision-making.

Program Development & Compliance

- Evaluate, develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with OSHA, state, local, customer, and internal requirements.

- Maintain OSHA-required documentation, including incident logs, PPE assessments, SDS records, and training certifications.

- Ensure operators (welders, forklift drivers, brake press users, etc.) are properly trained, certified, and re-certified as required.

- Oversee specialized safety requirements for laser welding and ensure compliance with all related protocols.

- Manage the Emergency Response Program and oversee annual safety-related testing (e.g., hearing conservation).

Incident Prevention & Response

- Lead and document root-cause investigations for incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and corrective actions are implemented.

- Provide support in Workers’ Compensation management, focusing on process improvements and cost reduction.

- Develop internal auditing processes and hazard/risk assessments to validate adherence to safety standards.

- Lead continuous improvement efforts to identify and eliminate high-risk tasks using incident data, observations, and audits.

Agency & Management Interface

- Serve as primary contact for all safety-related inquiries, inspections, and communications with federal, state, and local agencies.

- Provide timely and accurate reporting to management and regulatory agencies.

- Ensure safety is considered in all operational changes, including facility upgrades, equipment installations, and process modifications.

- Verify proper safety controls are designed, installed, trained, and functioning across all equipment and operations.

Qualifications

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

- 2–5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication experience preferred).

- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance standards, and workplace safety best practices.

- Familiarity with Workers’ Compensation laws, reporting, and case management.

- Proficient in first aid, CPR, and emergency response protocols.

- Skilled at developing and leading effective safety training for diverse employee groups.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting root-cause analysis.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, investigations, and employee engagement.

- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Details

- This role reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.

- While currently posted as a Part-Time position, there is potential for the role to transition into Full-Time based on business needs and performance.

- We are seeking a hands-on EHS Specialist who is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to driving continuous safety improvements on the shop floor. This individual will work closely with supervisors and team members to uphold all safety regulations, promote compliance, and strengthen our culture of workplace safety.
