Brief Description
Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) seeks a skilled Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead regulatory compliance and safety programs at the Sunrise Power Project. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role drives a strong safety culture, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and oversees air permitting with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance & Oversight
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and SJVAPCD regulations, including Title V permits, UIC wells permit, SWPPP, SPCC, RCRA, PSM/RMP, CEQA, and GHG reporting.
•Manage emissions monitoring, stack testing, continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), and EIA reporting.
•Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to agencies.
•Conduct environmental audits and coordinate with external auditors to address findings.
Health & Safety Leadership
•Develop and implement safety programs aligned with OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards, including hazard assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response planning.
•Deliver EHS training for employees and contractors, fostering a culture of safety.
•Coordinate testing and maintenance of PPE, emergency response, and electrical safety equipment.
•Identify and mitigate occupational health risks related to chemical handling, equipment safety, and waste management.
Program Management & Stakeholder Engagement
•Create and update procedures, JSAs, and review permits (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space Entry) quarterly.
•Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and internal teams.
•Coordinate with corporate EHS personnel to align policies and procedures.
•Manage site training, compliance metrics (e.g., GPI, Gensuite), and contractor safety orientations.
•Support sustainability initiatives to enhance environmental responsibility.
•HS equipment per schedule.
•PPE & Safety Equipment: Coordinate testing and maintain PPE and safety equipment.
•Contractors: Conduct site safety orientations and maintain records.
•Corporate Coordination: Align with corporate EHS policies and procedures.
•Resource Planning: Monitor and manage site training and compliance metrics (GPI, Gensuite, etc.).
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Requirements
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree or certifications like CSP, CIH, CHMM preferred).
•Experience: 5-7 years of EHS management in power generation, including 3+ years in California or similar regulatory environment, with expertise in SJVAPCD air permitting.
•Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Title V, SJVAPCD rules, RCRA, PSM/RMP, SWPPP, SPCC, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and EIA regulations.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis/reporting tools.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations.
•Physical Requirements: Able to conduct field inspections, wear PPE, and respond to emergencies.
Preferred Credentials
•Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
•Experience with environmental management software or compliance tracking systems.
•Familiarity with power generation operations and sustainability practices.
Summary
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
