To succeed as an Environmental Engineer, you must have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.

- Minimum of 5 years of environmental experience, preferably within petrochemical or refining facilities.

- Solid knowledge of operating permits (CAA, NPDES, PSD, NSR, Title V) and direct experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental enterprise systems such as Cority, Enviance, or Enablon.

- Solid communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to travel as required.

As an Environmental Engineer, you will:

- Prepare, review, and maintain environmental permits, emissions reports, and regulatory documentation while ensuring timely submissions.

- Perform emissions calculations, evaluate operational or equipment changes, and recommend air pollution control technologies.

- Coordinate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to support permitting efforts and compliance activities.

- Monitor site performance against environmental standards, manage assigned programs, and provide training or coaching to personnel.

- Support audits, capital projects, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain regulatory alignment and site compliance.

PEMEX Deer Park

is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crude oil, producing high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
