Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
•Provide day-to-day leadership for the department, including assigning work, mentoring staff, and managing performance.
•Drive department growth by aligning staffing, utilization, and project needs to ensure profitability and quality delivery.
•Guide the technical direction of the team, ensuring sound design and regulatory compliance in all projects.
•Monitor and manage departmental budgets, monthly financials, and resource planning.
•Collaborate with business development teams and project managers to pursue and secure new work.
•Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts to build a high-performing team.
•Support organizational initiatives, including quality control, safety, and diversity programs.
•Represent the department in internal and external meetings, presenting updates and strategic goals.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
•7+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a mix of technical project work and team leadership.
•Previous management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
•Demonstrated leadership ability and a strategic mindset.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
