We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Plant Technician at our Coal Power Plant. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in power plant operations. The selected candidate will undergo training on a day shift schedule, transitioning to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule upon completion of training.
In this role, you will learn to monitor and operate plant equipment, perform routine maintenance tasks, and ensure the safe and efficient generation of electricity. This is a hands-on position with a focus on teamwork, safety, and technical skill development.

Safety First – Understand and follow all plant safety procedures. Actively participate in maintaining an injury-free workplace.
Training & Development – Participate in comprehensive on-the-job training to learn plant and control room operations, plant systems, and safety protocols.
Plant Operations – Support experienced operators in operating and monitoring plant equipment using the Distributed Control System (DCS) and manual controls.
Equipment Rounds – Conduct routine inspections of plant systems and report abnormal conditions to senior personnel.
Basic Maintenance – Assist with minor maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain proper operation and cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
Water Chemistry – Learn to perform boiler and cooling tower water testing and support chemical treatment processes.
Documentation – Maintain accurate logs and records of plant activity and report findings clearly.
Team Support – Work under supervision to support plant operations, including emergency response and outage support as needed.
Continuous Learning – Participate in ongoing training and the plant’s qualification program to advance technical skills and operational knowledge.
Other Duties – Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision.
Technical school certification or coursework in industrial operations, mechanical systems, or electrical systems preferred.
Previous experience in industrial, mechanical, or power generation environments is a plus but not required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in plant operations.
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn plant systems and software.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties involving bending, standing, and climbing ladders.
This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. It requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to strict safety protocols. Physical labor and long periods of standing or walking are routine.
