Position Summary
This is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role job classification. Engineering Technologist III provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.
The successful candidate will interact with high profile external customers developing new residential projects in the Greater Charlotte area. They will facilitate the gathering of information from the external customer, decipher the info, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet the needs of the customer and the company. Internal stakeholders include circuit planning, asset design, centralized subdivision design, resource management, project management, and area operations support. Strong background in the power utility industry with customer facing experience is required.
Responsibilities* Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise.Required/Basic Qualifications* Either 3+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 5+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 9+ years equivalent experience without a degree.
Additional Preferred Qualifications* Good written and oral communication skills.
Working Conditions* Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
