Engineering Technician/Auxiliary Operator

A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Engineering Technician your day will consist of a variety of tasks which will include, but will not be limited to, monitoring the power generation equipment, running chemistry samples, performing preventative maintenance, isolating/de-isolating equipment for Lockout/Tag-out purposes. You are the physical presence in the plant to recognize, analyze and diagnose the condition of the operating equipment. Your experience and training is key to maintaining the reliability and availability of the plant for the customer and the electrical grid.

How You’ll Make an Impact

- Under Shift Lead direction control plant processes and electrical distribution through local operation of equipment.

- Conduct regular rounds of all generation and auxiliary equipment.

- Obtain and analyze various plant chemistry samples to maintain plant water quality as well as ensure environmental compliance.

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, identify operational problems, fix, make repairs and maintain equipment as required to support operation of the power plant.

- Apply the Computerized Maintenance Management System to help with preventive maintenance, inventory control, work orders, etc.

- Diagnose, solve, and maintain power generation systems to ensure availability and reliability of the plant for the electrical system.

What You Bring

- An associate degree in Power Plant Technology or equivalent experience.

- 2 years’ experience operating and maintaining power plant equipment.

- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing plant instrumentation, computers, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control equipment.
