Hardline Engineering is currently looking for an Underground Distribution Team Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Program Manager, URD & Streetlighting, the Underground Distribution lead role will be responsible for managing the underground residential distribution group, providing technical guidance, and authenticating designs. The team lead should have previous distribution and streetlighting experience and previous managerial experience would be preferred. As well as be able to collaborate with various divisions including safety, engineering, construction, accounting, and procurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Lead the URD team to ensure profitability, target new opportunities, and increase the backlog of work.
•Ensure engineering work is consistently accurate, of a high quality, scheduled and completed to meet project deliverables.
•Authenticate URD Design by having a solid understanding of both luminance and illuminance methods, electrical theory, and practice as it relates to URD and streetlighting systems.
•Manage, prioritize, and effectively deliver multiple projects and work requests both internally and externally with clients.
•Coordinate estimates and proposals.
•Look for continuous improvement opportunities and mentors and guides junior staff.
•Lead by example regarding Health and Safety protocols and requirements.
•Perform periodic inspection audits, record finding, produce reports with recommendations and corrective action plans to ensure consistent application of EH&S procedures and practices.
•Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Degree in Electrical Engineering from a program accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
•Registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer required.
•Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in underground distribution engineering.
•Leadership experience considered an asset.
