Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Engineering Specialist assists with projects related to engineering and construction, property, right-of-way, distribution, and operations & maintenance. Assist with contract related activities including design, inspection, contract administration, scheduling, and forecasting.
Additionally, this role will assist with developing and implementing an asset management program for Water Distribution System assets which include but are not limited to isolation valves, pressure regulating valves, air valves, buried concrete vaults, fire hydrants, service lines, distribution mains, conduits, treated water storage tanks, and pumps. Analyzes data and provides insight on asset and project performance, identifies trends and areas for continuous improvement. Provides support for collecting and compiling information that informs business decisions for operations and long-term capital planning. Supports the organization, retention, and flow of asset information and related data and communicates between work groups and business units throughout the organization. Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining systematic processes for data collections, work order management and asset information that supports operational needs. Maintains the Section’s computerized maintenance management system of record. Provides support for updating operational manuals, Standard Operating Procedure documents, and Emergency Action Plans. Assists in identifying, developing, and delivering projects specific to the section that support long-term goals and alignment with the strategic direction of the organization.
