Job Description:
The Engineering Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing planning, sourcing, and purchasing during the project development phase. This role ensures the smooth transition of PDM into NAV and coordinates all items with the main supply chain team as products move from development engineering to product engineering. The position requires detailed planning for long-lead items and clear communication with all stakeholders to meet commercialization timelines. Working closely with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams, the Engineering Procurement Manager optimizes procurement strategies to support efficient project execution.
Essential Duties:
•Manage the purchasing and sourcing of materials for development projects, ensuring alignment with engineering needs and commercialization goals.
•Oversee the accurate transitions from PDM to NAV to maintain data integrity.
•Work closely with the main supply chain team to ensure a seamless transition of components as products move from development to full-scale production.
•Identify, plan, and track long-lead items, ensuring they are ordered and delivered on time to meet project milestones.
•Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements.
•Monitor supply chain risks and proactively develop solutions to prevent delays and disruptions.
•Perform all duties as assigned.
Education:
Required:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Required:
•At least 1 year of Mesa experience.
Preferred:
•1-3 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment.
•Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
•Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
•Knowledge of sourcing strategies and supplier management for development projects.
•Experience with ERP systems and PDM.
•Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, especially for long-lead items
•Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams.
•Understanding of supply chain processes, including inventory control, logistics, and vendor management.
•Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks that could impact project timelines.
•Ensuring accuracy and consistency of BOMs and other procurement-related data.
•Ability to analyze data, forecast needs, and optimize procurement strategies for efficiency.
•Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
