This Position assists the capital project construction function for the Capital Projects - Project Delivery business unit with focus on transmission and distribution system protection commissioning. Provides technical support and governance over the commissioning oversight personnel/commissioning teams working on power delivery capital projects. Shall possess the ability to quickly understand the culture of construction as well as mentoring/coaching others in the field executing construction activities.
This position requires a SME in Power system protection and controls testing and commissioning activities who is very knowledgeable testing the protective relays, RTU, and DFR equipment. It also requires a very good understanding of Entergy/Industry commissioning processes, NERC CIP compliance, and documentation requirements. Requires a person who can work and make decisions under tremendous pressure and has to work hand in hand with commissioning crews and oversight personnel on day to day to basis. This position has to strongly embraces continuous improvement and is constantly developing the construction leadership and functional capabilities required for Entergy to achieve commissioning excellence in construction projects across a series of transmission and distribution construction portfolios, and others as needed.
Has the technical competence to establish commissioning governance and excellence by following Entergy/Industry power system protection standards and procedures for all types of capital projects with specific focus on transmission and distribution. Ensures that the projects are delivered with good quality and guarantees that project deliverables adhere to all Entergy standards and design.
Strong advocate for the partnering process with key stakeholders such contractors, and other internal/external support groups across ENT. Understands how to interface with key stakeholders such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, key industrial and residential customers, etc.
A passionate advocate for safety who promotes an incident free workplace and cultivates a safe work culture. Understands the foundations for a strong safety culture in its most genuine form and actively participates in safety initiatives at the project site to demonstrate commitment.
The Senior Lead Engineer position will also focuses on contractor oversight for system protection commissioning area. Contractor oversight includes developing and implementing strategy for contractor excellence, oversight of contracted portfolio of work, and serving as point of contact for contractor interface. It is expected that the Senior Lead Engineer is already a subject matter expert or has the ability to develop expertise in an additional area which may include compliance, Entergy standards, industry standards, major equipment, or significant industry engagement.
