5G/LTE Network Engineer (I) will perform entry-level work and assist with the planning, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and LTE networks, gaining hands-on experience in Radio Access Networks (RAN) and developing specialized knowledge in PLTE technologies, policies, and QOS (Quality of Service) strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assists in designing and implementing 5G/LTE network solutions based on business requirements, supporting lead engineers with network topology and IP addressing.
Helps maintain network scalability, reliability, and security, including device configuration and integration, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Supports enforcing security protocols such as access control, data encryption, and incident monitoring. Monitors analyzes, and reports on 5G/LTE network performance metrics such as throughput, latency, and packet loss, contributing to resolving network issues. Contributes to troubleshooting and optimizing 5G/LTE networks to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Assists with server maintenance, including updates, patches, backups, and performance troubleshooting to ensure availability and security. Maintains accurate documentation for network and server configurations. Participates in coordinating with internal teams and contractors to resolve telecommunications issues and support network upgrades. Generates performance and incident reports for management and provides input on network improvements. Stays abreast of technological advancements in telecommunications through training and technical publications. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
EXPERIENCE 0 - 2 years of experience is required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must have an occupationally significant combination of organizational ability; oral and written communication skills; ability to apply engineering or technical principles and methods to utility industry; spatial and form perception; mathematical ability and attention to detail. Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving frequent sitting, standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 20 pounds or more of force on a regular basis. Works in office majority of the time. Subject to hazards involved in work inspections in the field.
