About This Job

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an Energy Program Sales Specialist (Outreach Sales Specialist)

The Outreach Sales Specialist is responsible for engaging industrial and commercial customers on behalf of utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs. This role builds relationships with facility decision-makers, trade allies, and market influencers to identify energy-saving project opportunities, drive participation in incentive programs, and support overall program goals. The Outreach Specialist acts as the key connector between program implementation teams and the market.

An effective Outreach Specialist utilizes a specific skill set, including sales and networking, a communicative approach, a willingness to handle administrative details, and an innate desire to be helpful.

Our team is a reflection of our core company values, which are: do the right thing; put others first; seek shared success; learn constantly; and be industrious, while making industry more energy efficient. Our customers are vitally important to us, and we pride ourselves on stellar customer service.

What You Will Be Doing

Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

- Identify and engage industrial and commercial customers with high energy use and/or strong project potential.

- Conduct outreach through phone calls, emails, in-person visits, and events to educate stakeholders about program offerings and benefits.

- Collaborate with trade allies, contractors, and local industry associations to promote program visibility and pipeline development.

- Qualify project leads and assist participants in navigating program processes, including application support and incentive information.

- Able to use a CRM (e.g. Salesforce, Pipedrive, Monday) to document outreach activities, manage pipelines, and track program engagement.

- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to program staff to improve offerings and remove barriers to participation.

- Coordinate with marketing and engineering teams to ensure cohesive messaging and technical support.

- Represent the programs at association meetings, industry events, conferences, and webinars.

- Effectively utilize available technical resources and escalate more complex technical analyses to the appropriate team members.

- Provide regular reporting of lead generation, project status, or other data as directed.

- Overall management of energy projects through the incentive administration process from beginning to end.

- Work independently to meet goals and targets.

This is a full-time, exempt position located in Southern California.

Travel for this role is expected approximately 20% - 30% of the time, consisting primarily of local day trips.

Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are to have:

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in energy management, technology, business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relative experience

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

- Experience with utility funded energy efficiency or demand side management programs preferred.

- Experience in the energy, sustainability, or industrial sectors.

- General knowledge and understanding of energy-efficiency technologies and opportunities for industrial and commercial facilities preferred, i.e., what systems use energy, how they use energy, and methods for reducing energy use.

For candidates whose experience may not align perfectly with all these preferred skills but can see themselves adding value in this role, we encourage you to still apply. Cascade is dedicated to building an inclusive and authentic workplace and places strong import on learning and development. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
