Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the operation of machinery and ensure that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various manufacturing equipment and techniques, including CNC operations, quality control measures, and blueprint reading. As a Lead Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of production quality while leading and mentoring your team.
- Demonstrates good leadership characteristics, and the ability to lead small groups to complete appropriate inspections or special projects assigned by management with little or no supervision.
- Complete accurate, legible, detailed quality inspection / production reports daily.
- Must not attempt to operate machinery, vehicle, or equipment without proper training and / or competency verification.
- Responsible for keeping work areas and equipment in good, clean, working order, including maintenance, calibrations, and ample spare parts / supplies.
- Protect yourself and others at all times by ensuring that everyone is wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ensure all company policies surrounding health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met.
- Lead Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing work activities for direct reports, ensuring compliance with the company’s quality standards and policies.
- Supports and facilitates the training and progression of coworkers.
- Review, approve and submit time and PTO for direct reports on a weekly basis in accordance with company policy.
- Promptly report any policy or procedure violation to immediate Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with OCTG, or related NDT field.
- Read and write in English or Spanish.
- Use resources to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
- Must be in good physical condition, able to work outdoors, for extended hours on his/her feet, and able to lift 50 lbs.
- Employee must be punctual, dependable, have a good attitude, and dedicated to safety.
- Must meet the minimum requirements set forth in PRI’s written practice, NDE Personnel Qualifications for MP/UT & VT. Evidence that those requirements are met will be required.
- Must pass vision examinations as specified in PRI’s written practice, NDE Personnel Qualifications.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
