Syncrude Emergency Services is looking for a Fire Fighter/ACP or Fire Fighter/ACP to join their team.
Minimum Requirements:
•Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application
•Proof of RCMP Security clearance/check - candidate must be bondable - (must be provided at time of interview, if granted)
•Provide an up-to-date copy of Drivers Abstract
•Possess a Grade 12 High School Diploma or academic equivalency
•Ability to work on rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
•Speak, read and write English fluently, and communicate clearly and precisely under demanding, high-pressure
•Optimum physical fitness is required - Evaluated at Fitness test stages
•Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent)
•Primary Care Paramedic registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)
•Advanced Care Paramedic registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP)
•NFPA 1001 Firefighter level 1 (IFSAC and/or Pro-Board)
•NFPA 1001 Firefighter level 2 (IFSAC and/or Pro-Board)
•Please attached any addition certifications such as NFPA, Class 3,4 Drivers license. These certification are considered assets
•All short-listed Candidates must successfully complete the Syncrude Emergency Services Physical Fitness examination.
Responsibilities:
•Participating both as a member of a shift team as well as a member in a structured incident command system during response to emergencies involving fire, rescue, hazardous material and medical
•Participating in numerous audit programs that monitor the emergency preparedness of the organization and compliance to the standards in the fire discipline
•Maintaining programs to ensure the reliability of detection and suppression systems as well as response equipment. These programs require extensive record keeping and monitoring
•Conducting development and delivery of training programs. Team members conduct training sessions for peers, response teams and plant personnel

•You will work out of a Syncrude location in Fort McMurray. This is not a FIFO position

•The shift schedule is a number of days on /number days off rotation (number days on, number days off, number nights on, number nights off; #-hour shifts)
•This position is safety sensitive
•This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
•If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
•This position can be physically demanding and combined with the working environment, create stressful situations.
•You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
