Scott Engineering, Inc. is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Painter who will, under moderate supervision, operate electrostatic/conventional spray guns to paint metal cabinets and interior fixtures, clean and maintain spray booth and paint equipment, and assist other departments as needed.

•Apply coating/paint with electric static airless spray guns.
•Maintain painting equipment, which includes making minor repairs and ensuring proper supplies are on hand to complete assigned tasks.
•Work effectively as a member of a team, while continuously striving to improve and develop individual skills and knowledge.
•Apply epoxy and polyurethane coatings in a manufacturing environment.
•Knowledge of surface preparation, mixing 2 and 3 component coatings, application equipment, and application of performance coatings on steel components.
•Operate various pieces of equipment, such as Forklifts, spray guns, and other specialty equipment.
•Work independently with minimal supervision.
•Meet or exceed deadlines and schedules.
•Comply with all safety rules and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Safety: Understand safety hazards and how to properly ground the operator, target, air hose, and paint supply. Wear gloves with a metal strip on the palm to ground the painter.
•Electrostatic painting process: Understand how electrostatic painting works, including how the power pack charges the paint and the item being coated.
•Spray gun operation: Know how to use the spray gun and how to troubleshoot issues. For example, the spray gun pressure should be between 0.35 and 0.5MPa.
•Environment: Be aware of the temperature and humidity of the environment. The construction site should have a temperature of 18–25°C and a relative humidity of 45–65%.
•Spray gun cleaning: Clean the spray gun system immediately after spraying, and make sure the nozzle is not blocked.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
•Confined spaces: Workers spraying paint in confined spaces must wear an airline respirator.
•Enclosed spaces: Workers spraying paint in enclosed spaces must wear an airline respirator unless the ventilation is adequate.
•Large, well-ventilated areas: Workers can wear respirators in these areas.
•Standing: Stand for long periods of time while sanding, prepping, and painting.
•Lifting: Lift up to 25+ lbs or more to move materials.
•Reaching: Reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
•Color determination: Be able to determine colors when mixing paints.
•Physical activity: Be physically active for extended periods without getting tired or out of breath.
