Mako Industries is HIRING! Electricians Needed for Mississippi Shipyard- all will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems aboard marine vessels and within the shipyard facility. Work includes following blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and complying with safety standards. Ideal candidates have shipyard or industrial electrical experience and are ready to hit the ground running.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and vendor documentation.
- Install conduit on ship bulkheads and in facility buildings using brackets, screws, fasteners; thread wires through conduit and make connections to terminals (junction boxes, circuit breakers, switch panels, regulators, etc.).
- Install and construct instrument panels, control boxes, and equipment racks using hand tools, power tools, rulers, dividers, etc.
- Test electrical circuits and components for voltage, resistance, continuity, phase angle, using meters, indicators, diagnostic tools.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults.
- Assist in commissioning and startup of electrical systems.
- Adhere to safety policies, use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), follow shipyard and regulatory safety standards.
- Maintain neatness and organization of work areas; ensure tools and materials are handled properly.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet project schedules.
- Valid electrical license or certification preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years of hands on experience as an electrician (marine or industrial strongly preferred)
- Experience working in shipyard environments is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical systems/components
- Proficiency with electrical hand tools, power tools, meters, testing equipment
- Reliable attendance, ability to work overtime / shifts as needed
