In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) solar energy systems for both residential and commercial projects. Key Responsibilities:
+ Install, assemble, and wire solar PV modules, inverters, charge controllers, and other balance-of-system (BOS) components according to design specifications and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
+ Perform AC and DC wiring, conduit bending, and trenching as required for solar installations.
+ Install electrical service upgrades and main panel upgrades (MPU) when necessary.
+ Mount racking systems and attach solar panels to various roof types and ground mounts.
+ Connect solar systems to the grid and perform thorough system commissioning.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in existing solar PV systems.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, and testing of solar components.
+ Execute repairs and replacements of faulty equipment (inverters, optimizers, modules, etc.).
+ Perform system performance checks and optimize system efficiency.
+ Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
+ Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC Article 690).
+ Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and all tools.
+ Actively participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
•Documentation & Reporting:
+ Complete accurate paperwork for all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
+ Document system configurations, wiring diagrams, and "as-built" drawings.
+ Report project progress, challenges, and completion to the Project Manager.
•Teamwork & Communication:
+ Collaborate effectively with project managers, other electricians, installers, and customers.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding project status, technical details, and system operation.
+ Train and mentor junior electricians or solar installers as needed.

Working Conditions:
•Primarily outdoor work on residential and commercial rooftops and ground-mount sites.
•Exposure to various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
•Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
•Work may involve irregular hours or overtime to meet project deadlines.

Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or a technical degree in electrical systems is strongly preferred.
•Licensure: A valid Journeyman Electrician license is required (state-specific). A Master Electrician license is a plus.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a licensed electrician.
+ Solar experienced is not required but is a plus!
+ In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly Article 690.
+ Proficiency in AC and DC electrical wiring, conduit bending, and electrical testing equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, IR cameras).
+ Willingness to train with various solar inverter types (string, micro-inverters, optimizers) and monitoring platforms.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
+ A willingness to learn about solar design plans, grid-tied and off-grid solar system configurations.
+ Ability to work safely at heights on rooftops and ladders.
+ Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
+ Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
+ Capable of bending, stooping, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods.
