Position Overview:
Tamatta Mining & Construction is recruiting for one of our esteemed clients seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals for an immediate opening as a Electrician at a fly-in camp in the breathtaking region of Terrace, British Columbia. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a stunning environment while contributing to important projects in the mining and construction industry.
Responsibilities:
•Inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components.
•Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment.
•Inspecting equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are completed, while adhering to timelines and budget restrictions.
•Responsible for ordering electrical parts
•Preparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removal.
•Proficient with building code regulations as it relates to worksite building electrical assembly and repairs.
•Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocation.
•Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
•Understand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprints.
•Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspections.
•Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
•Notify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environment.
•Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
•Actively participate as a high performing, team member.
Required Knowledge & Experience
•Minimum of one (3) year working in a construction field electrician in a camp environment
•Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal) required.
•Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
•Ability to work a rotation schedule.
•Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
•Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
•Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
•Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 - 12 hour shift.
