The
Electrician, Ferndale Refineryis responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and installing electrical power systems up to 13.8kv. This work involves the use of hand and power tools and necessary diagnostic equipment.

This position is on a 4/10 work schedule.
Responsibilities May Include
+ 3-phase wiring and motor troubleshooting + Electrical fittings, cable tray systems, and seal systems + Basic shop mathematics and material dimensions including pipe sizes and schedules, alloy material awareness and use + National Electrical Code + Creating sketches and interpreting P&IDs and single line drawings + Using Microsoft Office applications
+ Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays + Be on call and respond to refinery emergencies during off-hours + Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines + Climb structures up to 250 feet in height using stairs and ladders. + Lifting, pushing, and pulling articles up to 60 pounds and grasping up to 100 pounds of grip force + Work around toxic chemicals, including acids and bases + Work around hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat + Work in enclosed spaces such as tanks and silos + Work outside in harsh weather conditions + Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection) + Wear a protective arc flash suit, along with other electrical safety equipment, as required + Maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
The Ferndale Refinery
is located on Puget Sound in Ferndale, Washington, approximately 20 miles south of the U.S.-Canada border. Facilities include crude distillation, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation and hydrodesulfurization units. It processes a variety crude oils, including Alaskan North Slope, Canadian and other foreign and U.S. shale crudes, primarily delivered via marine vessel and pipeline. Within the refinery is a rail car crude oil receiving facility with a capacity of 30,000 BPD. This offloading facility, owned by Phillips 66 Partners, makes the receipt of additional crude by rail car possible. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include residual fuel oil, which is supplied to the northwest marine bunker fuel market. Most refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline and barge to major markets in the northwestern United States.

Compensation
Pay for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Currently, the pay rate for a Journeyman is $52.42 per hour with a 7.5% annual bonus target (VCIP). This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. This position is on a 4/10 work schedule.
