Primary Purpose of Position
To work within the Tooling Department to efficiently and effectively support the general needs and duties of the department.
Major Responsibilities of Position
•Every employee has the responsibility to comply with all safety rules, quality procedures and processes established by MPA
•Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing electrical systems and components.
•Diagnose electrical malfunctions.
•Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
•Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
•Collaborate with other technicians to plan and execute repairs and installations.
•Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during all work activities.
•Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
•Work all necessary overtime when scheduled.
•Have the desire to continuously improve and advance within the company.
•Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Personal Competencies
•Valid electrician's license and certification in the relevant field.
•Proven experience working as a manufacturing electrician or in a similar role. Up to 480 VAC 3 Phase.
•Thorough understanding of manufacturing electrical systems and components.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
•Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively within a team.
•Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the automotive industry.
Physical demands
•Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, grasp and lift – occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
•Ability to occasionally climb and carry up to 40 pounds
•Visual requirements include ability to visually inspect work performed, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
•Ability to drive/operate forklift
•Must have the ability to perform the above requirements for a minimum of 8 hours daily
Work Environment
•Automotive manufacturing environment: shift work, i.e., five-eight-hour shifts for 40 regular hours per week with overtime as required.
•Shop Environment: 75% of the time, includes exposure to industrial safety hazards, loud and sudden noises, hot/humid conditions; standard tools available
•Production Environment: 25% of the time, includes exposure to industrial safety hazards, loud and sudden noises, hot/humid conditions. Extreme temperatures during the summer and winter months can be expected
Educational and Certification Background
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Essential
Training in Electrical Safety - Essential
