RK Electric is looking for an Electrical Warehouse Purchasing Manager, you will oversee all aspects of purchasing and procurement related to electrical supplies and equipment for the warehouse. You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Your expertise in electrical products and your ability to optimize purchasing processes will be critical in maintaining efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
•Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate suppliers of electrical supplies and equipment. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
•Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements. Leverage your knowledge of electrical products to negotiate competitive pricing and favorable terms.
•Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of electrical supplies and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory. Implement inventory management techniques such as ABC analysis and just-in-time inventory to optimize stock levels.
•Order Placement: Place purchase orders with suppliers based on inventory requirements and demand forecasts. Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods.
•Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased electrical products meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct inspections of incoming goods to verify quality and compliance with requirements.
•Cost Management: Implement cost-saving initiatives such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing to optimize purchasing costs. Monitor and analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
•Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards governing the procurement of electrical supplies and equipment. Stay informed about changes in regulations and adjust purchasing practices accordingly.
•Team Leadership: Lead a team of purchasing professionals responsible for electrical procurement. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and efficiency.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and correspondence. Ensure that all documentation is properly organized and accessible for audit purposes.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, or related field a plus, minimum of 5 year experience required.
•Proven experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably in the electrical industry.
•In-depth knowledge of electrical supplies, equipment, and materials.
•Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing.
•Experience with inventory management techniques and software.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
•Leadership experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
•Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing electrical procurement.
•Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Working Conditions: The Purchasing Manager will primarily work in an office environment within the warehouse facility. This position may involve sporadic heavy lifting, necessitating the ability to lift 75lbs or more. Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet deadlines or address urgent issues.
