Job Description
Join CMD Electric as an Electrician Trainee, working closely with certified or licensed Electricians. Your role involves assisting in the installation of new electrical systems and the repair of existing ones, all while adhering to national, state, and local electrical codes, as well as complying with CMD Electric's policies and procedures. Contribute to projects in various settings, including commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Collaborate in the installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings, fully aligned with the safety, operations, and productivity goals of CMD Electric.
•Utilize industry-specific hand tools and power tools under supervision.
•Support Electricians in tasks such as measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems, and other wire raceway systems.
•Assist in handling wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches, etc.
•Work alongside Electricians to splice and terminate wires at junction points.
•Perform cleanup duties and efficiently transport materials to electricians on the construction site.
•Effectively communicate with leadership and fellow crew members.
•Maintain adherence to the workflow schedule, ensuring the achievement of all productivity objectives set by CMD Electric.
•Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures established by CMD Electric.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
•Currently engaged as an Electrician Trainee and possessing a valid ET Card or in the process of enrolling in an approved Electrician Trainee program, in compliance with applicable state regulations.
•Proficient understanding of electrical theory, encompassing basic circuits, branch circuits, and specialty systems.
•Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend electrical single-line blueprints.
•Familiarity with the operational, maintenance, and repair aspects of electrical systems.
•Proficient knowledge of tools and equipment usage, emphasizing a commitment to safety.
Physical Demands & Requirements:
•Lift 50 lbs from the ground and exert 50 lbs of force.
•Engage in activities such as climbing ladders, pulling wires, and handling conduits.
•Execute full squats, stoops, or kneels while equipped with a 25 lb tool belt.
•Sustain a standing posture for extended durations, undertaking repetitive actions like grasping or manipulating wires.
•Operate from ladders, man lifts, or reach booms.
