Operates all facets of electrical contracting crew doing installation of power generation equipment and products. The Master Electrician of Record ensures all electrical work complies with states Electrical Code or The National Electrical Code and will ensure compliance with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code. Performs project work on electrical systems, maintains Fire Alarm And Fire Suppression systems, performs, supervises and records legally required tests, checks fuel supply and operation of generator, testing of automatic transfer switches, load testing of Generator. Responsible for supplies and inventory coordination for all installations, enforces all Safety requirements for anyone working on or near electrical equipment. Submit all required paperwork for projects.
- Lead the electrical staff and electrical projects
- Obtains material pricing and develops partnerships with vendors
- Performs site surveys, estimates, completes layout and field design for electrical projects, and completes proposals per project scopes
- Forecasts manpower requirements, attends forecast meetings, and submits future requirements
- Coordinates and schedules appropriate manpower necessary for the execution of contracted work and within projected budgets Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
- Interfaces with customers, general contractors and government authorities as a representative of the Company
- Provides Work-in-Process information and attends customer and company
- Completes project completion checklist, performs final walkthrough, and ensures completion and delivery of final documentation
- Responsible for electrical related safety, coordinates electrical and safety training on the job in the field as well as more formalized training in a classroom setting
- Obtains all permits and ensures all regulatory requirements are met
- Focuses on profitability, budget and schedule
- Maintains electronic/paper project folders
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must have minimum of 10 years previous experience as a Journeyman or Master Journeyman
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelors Degree, or experience of equal value in applied discipline preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Valid/maintain Electrical Master License
- Proven ability to manage electrical projects and manpower
- Must have working knowledge of the above titled position and how it related to the overall business and its’ objectives
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
- Good people skills with ability to communicate well with others
- Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Typical hours of operation, Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM.
- Weekend hours as necessary, some adjustments to starting and quitting time as workload requires.
- Physical demands include: Walking, standing, sitting at a desk, typing on keyboard, viewing and reading computer monitor, and using telephone. Lift up to 50 lbs. Use hands and arms to reach, touch, handle objects. Frequent talking, hearing, and reading are also required to perform regular job functions.
