We are seeking an experienced Electrical R&D Manager to lead our research and development efforts in the design, testing, and innovation of low voltage and medium voltage power distribution equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, with extensive experience working with UL and IEEE standards, a proven track record in product development and managing technical teams to deliver high-quality, compliant products.
- Lead and oversee the R&D activities related to low voltage and medium voltage power distribution equipment, ensuring innovation, safety, and compliance.
- Manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets to meet product development goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and compliance to ensure seamless product launches.
- Ensure all designs and testing procedures adhere to UL, IEEE, and other relevant standards and regulations.
- Conduct and supervise testing, validation, and certification processes for power distribution equipment.
- Stay updated on industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve R&D processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Drive innovation initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and safety.
- Support regulatory audits and ensure all products meet the necessary compliance requirements for global markets.
- Collaborate with all related internal contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness in the implementation of the commercial strategy.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with industry experience strongly preferred. Extensive work history may be used in lieu of degree requirements.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in R&D or design engineering for power distribution equipment.
- Product engineering, product management, product marketing, sales, or related experience in the electrical distribution equipment industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical teams.
- Deep knowledge of low voltage (<1000V) and medium voltage (1kV–35kV) power distribution systems.
- Extensive experience working with NEMA, UL, IEEE, and other relevant product standards.
- Experience with international standards and global market requirements.
- Familiarity with simulation software and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety, design and certification testing requirements.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor co-workers.
- Demonstrated strong presentation skills and fluency in English is required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
