About the Company
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) team, part of the rapidly growing North America Grid Integration Business Unit. This team focuses on Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS)—a technology that enhances the capacity and stability of power systems with minimal environmental impact and lower investment costs.
About the Role
You will apply advanced technical knowledge to lead engineering development, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support the full lifecycle of FACTS projects across North America.
Responsibilities
•Ensure engineering development is complete and includes all multidisciplinary inputs.
•Lead the development of innovative solutions for complex projects.
•Drive the completion of all electrical engineering activities across multiple projects.
•Coordinate the electrical engineering discipline across several initiatives.
•Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning.
•Create work plans, cost estimates, and review scope, budget, and schedule.
•Interact directly with customers, contractors, and supply chain partners.
•Design and execute projects in compliance with customer specifications, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, and global standards.
•Conduct risk and opportunity assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
•Deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions within budget and contract requirements.
•Prepare manufacturing documents for control and protection cubicles.
•Develop secondary design drawings for FACTS plant systems.
•Prepare specifications and RFPs for control and protection cubicles, cables, and junction boxes.
•Manage procurement of electrical components.
•Coordinate with mechanical, control, and system design departments.
Qualifications
•BS, M.sC or Ph.D in electrical engineering
•Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Required Skills
•Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and ANSI/IEEE standards.
•Experience with FACTS or high-voltage transmission substation solutions (preferred).
•Experience in control and protection panel design (preferred).
•Knowledge of relay configuration and CAD tools (a plus).
•Bilingual in French and English.
•Must have valid work authorization to work in Canada.
•This is an on-site position based in Saint-Laurent, QC.
