Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Control & Electrical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control and electrical systems and be capable of supporting manufacturing operations with minimal supervision. This individual should be adaptable, safety-focused, and willing to learn and work with both new and legacy technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
•Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
•Troubleshoot, program, and network Allen Bradley PLCs (SLC 5/500/5000 series) and HMIs.
•Modify and program ladder logic when required.
•Set up, commission, and modify basic control buttons and HMI switches.
•Maintain and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including analog and safety systems.
•Perform deep troubleshooting and maintenance on both DC and AC motor controls (including starters, overloads, VFDs, DC drives, encoders, and tachometers).
•Understand and troubleshoot servo systems.
•Wire and troubleshoot various sensors and switches (e.g., inductive proximity sensors, photo eyes, limit switches, push buttons, selector switches).
•Build and maintain control panels.
•Apply basic knowledge of mechanical theories (pressure, torque, force, flow, gear ratios, clutches).
•Apply basic to intermediate understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems (valves, flow, cylinders, pumps, heat exchangers, accumulators).
•Participate in manufacturing plant operations and continuous improvement efforts.
•Work safely and independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing production environment.
•Certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree in industrial electrical, electromechanical, mechatronics, automation, or related field.
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and support multiple production lines efficiently.
•Willingness to learn and work with both new and legacy control systems.
•Proficiency in handling electronic components and basic hand tools.
•Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
•Experience in panel design/building and electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
•Exposure to old and new technologies in automation and control systems.
