Electrical Engineer (Junior Distribution Engineer)

Job Description Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the preparation of distribution line designs for urban and rural projects

- Perform basic calculations and modeling under supervision

- Work with tools like CYME, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and FieldsmartView

- Support senior engineers with technical documentation, estimates, and reports

- Participate in site visits, field data collection, and drafting assignments

- Coordinate with technicians and administrative staff to support project delivery.

Qualifications:

- High Level or Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Civil considered for underground design experience)

- 0–2 years of experience in a utility or engineering consulting environment

- Eligible for registration with APEGS (not mandatory yet)

- Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code and distribution system components is an asset

Preferred Skills:

- Exposure to distribution system design (e.g., poles, transformers, feeders)

- Proficiency in MS Office and basic design tools

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Eagerness to learn and grow under senior mentorship
