Electrical Engineer-In-Training

Join BBA and make the most of your knowledge and experience by actively contributing to the various stages of major electrical engineering projects, from the earliest stages of the business relationship to onsite equipment commissioning.

You’ll utilize your technical skills every day, whether it’s to develop mindful approaches to addressing our clients’ challenging needs or collaborating with subject matter experts to provide innovative and technologically advanced solutions.

This role will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and be ready to take the lead in future, while also being in the thick of the action by working closely with talented people.

- Work collaboratively with engineers, designers and drafters in the preparation of deliverables to BBA and client standards

- Assist in the preparation of design deliverables under the supervision of the project engineers.

- Assist in calculations and studies

- Assist in site inspections, testing and commissioning at client sites

Overview of certifications and job requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university

- Member in good standing with EGBC and registered as an EIT

- Minimum 2 year of experience in engineering

- Familiarity with reading and preparing electrical schematics of various types (single lines, three lines, and interconnection drawings)

- Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications

- Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations

- Strong communication (verbal and written in English), interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

- Able to travel to customer sites and other BBA offices within Canada, the USA, and international destinations for project short-term assignments, such as site meetings, field reviews, site assessments, tests, etc.

- Annual base salary between – $67,000-$80,000
