Electrical Engineerto join our team.
The
Electrical Engineer will support clients through the management of projects from concept to commissioning by leading and/or participating in the design, specification, and procurement of each project. This role supports the design and development of electrical systems for capital projects, including well pad facilities, central gathering stations, terminals, and saltwater disposals.
The position will report to Karla Orth, Vice President of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities and Skill Sets:
- Client engagement.

- Understand and manage your personal performance to promote JH teamwork and culture, while enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Maintain confidentiality of all JH and customer information.
- Lead all electrical design and specification work.
- Equipment specifications (transformers, panels, cable, etc.)
- Electrical plot plan/area classifications, one-lines, arc-flash, etc.
- Electrical detail drawings
- Interface daily with individual project managers on the electrical engineering needs of their projects.
- Lead the development of technical specifications for secondary power systems.
- Requires extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, engineering methods and materials applications, and computer software applications to engineering problems to ensure the design is cost-effective, following applicable safety, health, environmental regulations, customer requirements, and engineering codes and standards.
- Be familiar with all industrial codes regarding power distribution, electrical equipment specification, and installation.
- Responsible for gathering project requirements, developing designs to meet the client’s needs: cost estimates, pre-build project schedules, engineered drawings, specifications, and datasheets, procuring materials, and client handover. (Concept to Commission)
- Receives minimal supervision on unusual or difficult problems, and general review of all aspects of work.
- Communicate with field staff and vendors during project execution.
- Domestic travel is required. Travel will include trips to plant sites, equipment fabricators, outside engineering firms, and customer locations (estimated at 5 – 10%).
- Must have the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Five or more years of experience
- Ability to make balanced decisions weighing operability, reliability, capital, and operating costs.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC).
- Experience in managing small to mid-size projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, project team members, and other staff.
- Ability to pass an in-depth background check and drug screening.
- 7 or more years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience in low voltage (480V) power distribution systems
