Description ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electrical Design Engineer at Kratos will be responsible for delivering complete engineering projects on time and with a high level of accuracy. This role will be expected to maintain the ERP system and manage the Bill of Materials for at minimum, their given project, throughout the lifecycle of the project. The Electrical Design Engineer will be expected to understand a single line schematic for a system, gather relevant data sheets and produce a functioning 3 line schematic for production. Incorporate redlines and as-built notes into drawings prior to project shipment release. Excellent time management along with strong written and verbal skills are critical to success in this role. Establish rapport with clients, vendors, and co-workers such that the Electrical Design Engineer owns the engineering portion of the project start to finish. Coordination and communication with production personnel to ensure project success. Every employee at Kratos is expected to uphold, and be guided by, the principles of Code Orange.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar work experience
- Experience in CAD programs (EPLAN, AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, Inventor or otherwise)
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical controls systems
- Experience developing and implementing control solutions and packages
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects to balance
- Engineering experience in power and controls componentry, theory, and production
- ERP experience a plus
- Working knowledge of UL508A, UL891, UL1558 and Medium Voltage switchgear
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience with protection relays, PLCs, current transformers and voltage transformers

- The Company pays a life insurance premium for full-time employees of 10K. Employees have an option to opt-in to additional life insurance at an additional cost, covering up to $300K
401K -
The Company matches up to 4%. You will be eligible as a regular full-time to contribute, subject to the eligibility requirements and other terms and conditions in accordance the group provider
COBRA -
All governed regulations are mandated by both federal and state levels. Regulatory statues are followed by The Company and available disclosures are public and available for all employees to review
PAID TIME OFF (Vacation) -
PTO begins accruing at the date of hire; Those hours are not available to utilize until after 60 days of employment, 80 hours of PTO
PERFORMANCE BONUS -
As a Kratos Employee you are eligible to take part in the company bonus plan. A percentage of your annual gross wages will be paid dependent on EBITDA at the end of the year.
