JOB TITLE: Electrical and Instrument Engineer

General Description
Onward Resources is seeking a self-motivated, instrument engineer with knowledge in electrical and controls/automation engineering to lead and/or support assigned projects to ensure the development of effective designs, drawings and documentation to achieve client/owner requirements as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and project execution team.
Responsibilities* Ability to read and review P&IDs and electrical drawings
•Demonstrated work experience in the Upstream/Midstream Oil and Gas Production support
•Management of third-party subcontractors/firms
•Size and select instruments to ensure compatibility with process and industry standards
•Provide input in developing area classification drawings for hazardous areas and select explosion-proof and intrinsically safe equipment where needed.
•Assist in developing instrument, electrical, and controls standards and specifications per industry codes and good practice.
•Prepare instrument datasheets for various components such as control valves, transmitters, regulators, meter skids and junction boxes.
•Create and maintain instrument lists, schedules and diagrams.
•Interact with other engineering disciplines, construction project management, major equipment suppliers, and clients
•Knowledge of budgets, proposals, bids and budgeting concepts
•Coordinate details and miscellaneous design details with other disciplines and project management
•Apply standard engineering design principles to the extent appropriate
•Experience in electrical modeling programs (SKM, ETAP, etc.) for use to conduct power studies, short-circuit calculations, coordination studies, arc flash calculations, and troubleshooting if required.
Requirements* 10 or more years of applicable experience in oil and gas industry
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required
•Extensive knowledge of pertinent industry codes is required
•Experience specific in midstream facilities such as compressor stations, meter stations, and gas processing facilities
•Proven success in developing and executing projects, including objectives, scope, schedule and deliverables.
•Tenacious, results oriented approach to work, with high quality work standards.
•Impeccable personal and professional ethics;
•Some travel involved for field testing (FAT)
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to climb up and down ladders, stairs, and platforms at various heights
•Ability to push, pull, lift 50 lbs to a minimum of 3-4 feet and maneuver equipment or parts as needed
