Job Summary:
The EH&S and HR Manager is responsible for managing all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) programs and Human Resources (HR) functions across three industrial manufacturing plants and one DOT-compliant trucking company. This includes ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, overseeing employee relations, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. This role coordinates safety and HR policies across facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, performance management, and effective employee support.
Travel between sites will be 30% or more.
Key Responsibilities:
EH&S Management:
•EH&S Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other environmental and safety regulations across all manufacturing plants and the trucking operation.
•DOT Compliance: Ensure the trucking company adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards and regulations, including hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and driver qualifications.
•Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
•Safety Training: Develop and conduct safety training programs for both manufacturing and transportation employees, focusing on hazard communication, PPE, and emergency procedures.
•Audits and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular audits and risk assessments across all sites to identify hazards, ensuring corrective action is taken promptly.
•Environmental Sustainability: Manage environmental programs, including waste management, air quality, and hazardous materials handling.
Human Resources Management:
•Talent Management: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for both manufacturing and trucking operations, ensuring the right talent for each business.
•Employee Relations: Address employee grievances and disputes, providing mediation and conflict resolution.
•Policy Development and Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies in line with federal and state labor laws, including those governing the trucking industry.
•Performance Management: Implement performance appraisal systems for all employees, ensuring development plans and corrective actions where needed.
•Compensation and Benefits: Oversee payroll, compensation, and benefits administration for all employees, including truck drivers.
•HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with FMLA, FLSA, EEO, and other labor laws.
Cross-functional Leadership:
•Consistency Across Locations: Ensure consistent implementation of EH&S and HR practices across all manufacturing plants and the trucking company.
•Collaboration: Work closely with department managers, maintenance teams, and external vendors to implement safety and HR programs.
Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. Master’s degree or certifications such as SHRM-CP, CSP, or DOT compliance certifications preferred.
•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing EH&S and HR in industrial and/or transportation settings.
•Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
•Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, and DOT-related certifications.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
