This position provides difficult and varied secretarial, public contact, clerical and administrative support for the Senior Officer with an emphasis on relieving as much administrative detail as possible. Work affords considerable independence, giving information, receiving complaints, and performing other public contact work. Performs duties which require taking and transcribing dictation, i.e,. meetings, etc.
- Provide administrative support by receiving and routing calls, opening, and distributing mail, the preparation of correspondence and reports and the maintenance of files for the division.
- Organizes annual budget and prepares reports and statistical data.
- Prepares forms, charts, etc. for the cooperative as needed.
- Maintains the Senior Officer’s calendar of appointments and meetings.
- Prepares contract packages for RUS or to go out to bid.
- Serves as a liaison between departments and within the department.

The Administrative Assistant shall be required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.

- General Public: Maintains good relations in all contacts with the general public.
Equipment Operated: Position utilizes computer terminals, calculators, and other standard office equipment in the completion of duties.
Abilities and Skills: Must be able to carry out a variety of activities which require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. A knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.
Physical Effort: Must be able to perform the activities listed in the position description. These activities are typically performed sitting, walking, and standing.
Working Conditions: Most position activities are performed at a desk in an office environment
Job Knowledge, Training, and Experience: Position performs a variety of clerical and secretarial duties which require good grammar and spelling skills. A knowledge of typing, data entry, and record keeping is required. This is normally acquired through the completion of commercial courses leading to a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3-4 years work experience. Previous office experience should include exposure to utility operations and the preparation of statistical reports. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, such as MS Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point is required.
After an offer of employment has been made, a physical examination will be required which will include both drug and alcohol testing.
