Position Summary
The E&I Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repairs on Company equipment in the field, tank farms, pump stations, control center, offices and other Company facilities.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
•Schedule and perform inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment at substations, pump stations and tank farms.
•Test and insure correct operation of transmitter, safety and protective devices.
•Perform electrical or SCADA required repairs needed by Pipeline Control Center.
•Troubleshoot control networks, including but not limited to Ethernet/IP and Modbus.
•Insure correct operation of switchgear, substations equipment and technology, motors, valve operators/actuators and tank gauging equipment.
•Assist operators in assuring that all field units operate in correct fashion.
•Assist Maintenance and Operations Technicians as needed with equipment, including, but not limited to; pumps, valves, motors, tanks, pipes, terminal building, etc.
•Plan and install new field units and help with communications installations.
•Perform basic maintenance functions as needed.
•Perform mandated tests and maintain associated records.
•Responsible for regulatory/code compliance of all electrical installations.
•Install new SCADA equipment on new sites or replace equipment where necessary.
•Other duties as assigned.
•This position is subject to DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements.
Position Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Proficient working knowledge in maintaining basic industrial electrical systems, installation, repair and troubleshooting.
•Working knowledge of electrical and SCADA equipment.
•Strong mechanical aptitude.
•Ability to read and comprehend electrical drawings, technical operations manuals, P&ID, perform load studies and related calculations.
•Working knowledge of different electrical test equipment i.e., voltmeters, meggers, and scopes.
•Basic working knowledge of NEC Code requirements and specifications associated with pipeline operations as well as applicable governmental regulations
•Basic working knowledge of ethernet networks, fiber optics, and cat 5/6 cabling.
•Must know basic requirements for wire/wiring and conduit installation.
•Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to perform basic math.
•Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
•Must be available to be on call on a rotational schedule.
•Ability to work overtime as necessary.
•Must be committed to working safely at all times.
Experience/Education:
•High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience is required.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in field/industry, or technical degree is required.
•Experience or training with high voltage electrical systems and safety.
•Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
•Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card (TWIC).

This position is required to be performed at the work site during regularly scheduled hours. Physical presence at the work site is required.
