We are seeking qualified and experienced Drilling Personnel to join our underground drilling operations team. This posting is open to Drill Locators, Operators, and Supervisors—you will be asked to specify your desired role during the application process.
•Underground Operations Supervisor - Pacific Northwest Region (WA.OR) and North Carolina, Florida;
•Drilling Foreman - Pacific Northwest Region (WA.OR)
•Drill Operator/Locator - Pacific Northwest Region (WA.OR)
The position requires extensive travel — at least 80% of the time — within the region where the individual is assigned. A company vehicle and travel expenses will be provided.
Key Responsibilities (Depending on Role):
•Operate or locate horizontal directional drills (HDD) for fiber, copper, or utility installation;
•Read and interpret construction plans, bore logs, and site maps;
•Supervise, train, and support underground drilling crews;
•Perform jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards;
•Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate with project managers and regional leadership;
•Conduct potholing, utility locates, and restoration work as needed;
•Document job progress, crew performance, and field training activities.
Requirements
•Experience: 1–5+ years in underground drilling operations (varies by role);
•Skills: Strong understanding of HDD, utility locates, potholing, and safety procedures;
•Leadership: Supervisory roles require prior experience leading UG crews;
•Travel: Willingness to travel regionally up to 80% of the time;
•Other: Valid driver’s license required (CDL and OSHA/NCCER certifications are a plus).
