Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Drafting Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the comprehensive preparation of design, drawings and documentation in adherence to technical guidelines of the District.
- Development and preparation of engineering drawings, plans, figures, diagrams and layouts
- Operation of Computer-Assisted Drafting (CAD) equipment
- Adoption of District drawing styles and CAD standards
- Become knowledgeable in the use of existing file systems and assist in further development of electronic file systems
- Assist in utility identification, mapping, and preparation of figures for utility agreements
- Preparation of document drawings for the Lands Department
- Assist Engineering and Technical Services from time to time with survey, survey data processing, surface creation, earthwork modeling, capacity checks and project estimating
- Work in conjunction with outside consulting firms as required
- Comply with District Health and Safety Program
- Minimum of a Diploma in Engineering Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology or a related program
- 1 – 5 years of experience drafting in the field of civil engineering and/or water resources
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including hydraulics and hydrology features, pipe networks / parts catalogues and AutoLISP routines
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
- Experience with M-Files, Stay Safe, and e-Compliance is preferred
