Scope of Responsibility
It is an exciting time to join Regal Rexnord, and we are happy to share that we are hiring a Domestic Tax Director to join our Global Tax team based in either Milwaukee or Rosemont. This is a leadership position within Regal Rexnord and will report directly to the Vice President, Global Tax while also working closely with the Senior Tax Director, International Tax Director and Indirect Tax Director as well as the broader Global Tax team.
The Global Tax team at Regal Rexnord has recently begun a journey to become more strategic as it supports Regal Rexnord’s growing global businesses. As the leader of Regal Rexnord’s domestic tax function, the Domestic Tax Director will help to drive the team’s strategic initiatives focused on tax planning, business support, management of tax controversy and M&A activities. To facilitate the Global Tax team’s shift in focus to higher value-added activities, the Domestic Tax Director will work closely with the tax leadership team to identify and implement strategies that improve and automate the current compliance and tax provision processes.
The environment at Regal Rexnord is fast paced, challenging and dynamic, requiring someone that has a high degree of internal motivation and drive to make a direct impact on the company’s success. While this role will focus on federal and state income tax topics applicable to Regal Rexnord’s fifty plus domestic legal entities, experience with typical U.S. international tax concepts applicable to U.S. multinationals such as FDII, BEAT and other non-U.S. aspects of within the U.S. federal tax return will be helpful.
Responsibilities
- Lead U.S. federal and state tax compliance processes in coordination with the current internal tax team and external service providers.
- Manage the tax provision team that is responsible for computation of Regal Rexnord’s consolidated tax rate and lead federal and state tax provision computations pursuant to ASC-740.
- Develop and implement domestic tax planning initiatives as part of the team’s focus on increasing strategic value. Support all M&A diligence and integration activities with a domestic focus.
- Develop and lead business partnership initiatives related to Regal Rexnord’s domestic business restructuring initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate the U.S. federal tax audit and state audits including relationships with IRS and state tax auditors with a focus on strategic audit responses.
- Support the development and implementation of domestic process improvement initiatives focusing on the current income tax compliance and provision processes.
- Partner effectively with the Indirect Tax Director and team on domestic tax matters of mutual interest.
- Develop and train domestic tax team members including team members that are based outside the U.S.
- Participate in communications and meetings with the CFO and other executive leadership team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field.
- Masters in Tax is a plus.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
- Eight plus years’ overall experience in global income tax reporting.
- Five plus years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Big four public accounting experience or Fortune 500 multinational company experience desired. Experience in a complex manufacturing industry is desired but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proactive problem solver and innovative thinker.
- Ability to interact and team with professionals in various global functional areas to resolve complex tax issues throughout the organization.
- Detail oriented and excellent analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of various reporting systems is preferred (i.e., Hyperion, OneStream).
- Working knowledge of tax technology solutions (Corptax Compliance and Provision) is a plus.
- Optimizes the talent within the organizational structure and fosters an environment to promote individual and team growth and career development goals.
- Ability to work on time sensitive, confidential projects.
Compensation Details:
$150,000 - $200,000
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons.
