Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. Hiring priority will be given to qualified applicants who are beneficiaries of the Impact Benefits Agreement (IBA) and to qualified applicants residing in the Northwest Ontario communities. Schedule: 5 Days On / 2 Days Off & 4 Days On / 3 Days Off (9 Hour Work Day)
The Document Controller works to ensure orderly and accessible storage of all site documents and provides assistance to the Document Control Specialist.
- Digitize, organize and maintain all documents adhering to the company’s document control processes and procedures.
- Reviews completeness and accuracy of metadata for submitted documents and records.
- Ensure all documents adhere to project and operational standards and corporate branding guidelines.
- Supports the creation, review, and approval of documents, and how those documents are systematically retained including tracking, distribution and disposition.
- Provides occasional training and support to users of document management applications including but not limited to SharePoint, InEight Document, and best practices in document control and records management.
- Respond to inquiries and provide support for document retrieval
- Promote a site wide, team-based culture between employees, departments, and contractors
- Execute work to the highest standards and in accordance with New Gold’s Policies
- Strong organization and communication skills with an attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Products including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Familiarity with Multifunctional devices (i.e.: scanner/printer).
- Knowledge or experience using InEight software or electronic document management software would be an asset
- Knowledge of cloud-based platforms or services such as SharePoint and Google Cloud.
- Knowledge or experience in document control or construction administration is considered an asset.
- Good judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Comfortable participating in virtual and in-person meetings.
- Office based role with occasional field visits (driving/walking)
- Minimal/occasional lifting required (typically less than 10kgs)
