Distribution Technologist/Engineer

The Opportunity

ZE Power Engineering is an innovative industry leading company that provides engineering services to the electric utility industry. We are currently seeking an individual as a Distribution Technologist/Engineer in administrative tasks and provide support tothe company. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a great team environment at a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

- Design new and replacement infrastructure for electrical utility underground systems at Distribution voltages.

- Reviewing existing buiding vault and utility infrastructure

- Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, calculations, illustrations and independent checks.

- Use computer-aided design methods to solve problems and prepare drawings.

- Prepare design markups to the drafting group in order to assist in the development of an engineered drafted drawing.

- Consult as required with the Professional of Record and action changes as directed.

- Interface with other design disciplines, coordinate with related stakeholders, project managers and managers.

- Interact with clients, consultants and contractors on a continual basis.

- Conduct site visits in order to verify existing site conditions, meet stakeholders or oversee construction.

- Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports and project calculations.

- Willing to assist in a variety of project support activities including project coordination, estimating, strategic planning, client support, and business analysis supporting the business development and project management departments.

Qualifications

- Required:

- Post Secondary diploma or degree from a recognized electrical technology or engineering institution.

- Experience with Distribution Electrical Utility or Building Electrical design

- Class 5 drivers license

- Preferred

- 2+ Years of relevant design or engineering experience

- Engineering degree and registration with EGBC.

- Experience designing BCH Distribution systems a strong asset.

- Experience with distribution voltage customer vault design a strong asset
