Position located at Milan, TN

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Arranges shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating delivery requirements; placing and expediting orders. Daily reports on what items are being shipped and preliminary shipment bundles have been assigned. Needs to arrange for carrier to deliver steel or segment out shipments where the customer has already arranged for delivery with their own carrier.

Verify delivery instructions and times that the customer has requested

Monitoring availability of truck, rail and barge shipments and dispatching carriers, generating shipping documents and directing the loading of steel

Will negotiate freight rates with local carriers

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT(S):

High school diploma and 2 years of related experience (i.e., storeroom, logistics, inventory management, shipping, etc.)
