Job Summary
The Director of Project Engineering leads the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects in construction generation. This role combines strategic oversight with technical leadership, ensuring projects meet performance, quality, and budgetary goals. The director collaborates with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for Project Engineering function from development through project execution
- Lead capital critical planning initiatives with input from key stakeholder to develop, document, and track short term and long-term potential capital projects to align with company goals and objectives.
- Responsible for interface with operational engineering organizations for engineering standards in addition to contracted owners engineer resources
- Direct multiple engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Lead engineering project teams; recruit, train, and mentor staff
- Develop and implement engineering strategies, standards, and best practices.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and cost control.
- Identify and implement improvements in engineering workflows and systems.
- Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and external partners
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry regulations and safety standards
- Continuously analyze costs and develop cost reduction plans for capital improvements and maintenance projects; provide support to facility managers in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives as needed

- Required Qualifications for Position
- Bachelor's Degree STEM, Finance, Sustainability, Energy or other related technical degrees
- 7-9 years Minimum 6 years’ experience in project engineering in energy industry
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, cross-functional projects
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Effectively and productively collaborate with peers and stakeholders in a manner that build confidence, shared success, and future growth
- Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Master's Degree STEM, Finance, Sustainability, Energy or other related technical degrees
