We are seeking a strategic, technically fluent, and market-savvy Director - Optimization Analytics to lead the vision, development, and market success of our GridBOOST energy storage optimization platform. This role bridges technical innovation, market expertise, and client impact—playing a central leadership role.
The candidate will contribute to the development of analytical products developed by the Future Grid Services business line of CES. This will include day-to-day management of team’s tasks, coordinating with clients and leaders from other business lines to plan, execute and improve analytical features and products. Designing and managing the pipelines for analytical products on cloud infrastructure.
Ideal candidates for this position will be able to work both independently and collaboratively and will possess strong communication skills and exceptional analytical skills.
- Own and evolve the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the bidding optimization suite and support the commercial team in articulating product differentiation and competitive edge
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists to improve the performance of the short-term price/load forecasting for our bid optimization products for the US wholesale electricity market.
- Guide in developing new bidding and optimization strategies for the optimization engine of our bid optimization product for the US wholesale electricity market.
- Manage the development and execution of scalable AI/ML pipelines and the infrastructure needed for the analytical products.
- Create bidding strategies based on clients’ risk tolerance using metrics like VaR/CVaR. Developed hedging strategies using hedges or insurance products available in the market.
- Coordinate with clients, asset operators, ISO market experts, business development leaders and other software teams to translate the analytical requirements into features and products.
- Make prioritization decisions across features, performance improvements, and market support
- Oversee the integration of analytical products with the software products owned by the other business lines.
- Proven experience (8–10 years) leading data science teams in price/load forecasting and bidding optimization for multiple ISOs in U.S. wholesale electricity markets.
- Strong quantitative background, preferably a Master’s or PhD in economics, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
- Experience in risk management or deal structuring in the electricity industry is a plus.
- Strong mathematical foundation in optimization, risk management, and price forecasting approaches for U.S. wholesale electricity markets.
- Expertise in Python, deep learning and machine learning techniques, and building scalable AI/ML pipelines in AWS.
- Solid understanding of U.S. ISO/RTO electricity markets (ERCOT, CAISO, NYISO, ISO-NE).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Experience with wholesale market congestion management processes (ARR, FTR, CRR, TCC), with strong emphasis on PJM.
