This is a local position where you will be REQUIRED to work daily. You will be able to Work-From-Home (WFH) the majority of the time, but will be required to travel as necessary to Rochester, NY. Applicants MUST be located within New York State. Anyone applying outside of NYS will not be considered.
Overview:
ChargeSmart EV is a turnkey business solution for commercial customers, electric vehicle (EV) charging needs. We provide our customers the support they need to develop an electric charging program that fits their needs, and their customer’s needs, all while working with a single partner. We provide the service and support to ensure that our customers can build out their charging infrastructure while helping them take advantage of available state and utility incentives in their area.
Job Description:
ChargeSmart EV is hiring a full-time Director of Marketing and Public Relations to drive our brand strategy, lead all marketing initiatives, and manage external communications as we enter a new phase of accelerated growth. This critical leadership role will oversee marketing campaigns, digital presence, PR outreach, and partnerships, shaping how we communicate our story and value to customers, partners, and the broader market. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with strong leadership abilities, creativity, and a passion for sustainability and clean energy.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with company growth goals
•Oversee all brand, content, digital, and social marketing initiatives to drive awareness and demand
•Build and manage public relations efforts, including media outreach, press releases, and thought leadership opportunities
•Manage website content, SEO, and digital campaigns to maximize lead generation
•Lead customer communications, case studies, and success stories to highlight our impact
•Cultivate partnerships and sponsorships that elevate our brand and align with strategic goals
•Work closely with the leadership team to support sales efforts through targeted campaigns and collateral
•Analyze marketing and PR performance metrics, adjusting tactics as needed to optimize ROI
•Oversee internal and external resources, including agencies, freelancers, and vendors
•Other duties as required
Requirements and Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
•Minimum of 7 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or director-level role
•Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing and PR strategies
•Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, and brand management
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of successful media relations
•Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously
•Passion for sustainability, clean energy, or electric mobility is a plus
•Familiarity with marketing automation tools, CRM platforms, and analytics dashboards is preferred

Compensation:
•Salary of $100k-$125k Annually (depending on experience)
•Company 401k Match Program (5%+ Employee Contribution = 4% Employer Match) up to a maximum Employer $ Match of $5,000 per year
•Health Insurance (Employer Covers 80% of Monthly Plan Cost, in a Tiered System)
