Develop, Design, Scope, Seek Approval, Contract and Execute EPC agreements for RNG and/or Electrical Power Generation Projects. During Construction, interface with Project Managers internally and externally and manage EPC process to final completion.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Strategic Planning and Prioritization:
•Ability to analyse biogas supply and develop basis of design used to build scope documents for EPC delivery methods of Renewable Natural Gas and Electrical Power facilities.
•Technical skillset to understand the composition of biogas available and work with EPC contractors to design an upgrading facility using EDL’s standard design and preferred equipment OEMs.
•Develop strategies alongside Commercial Team to procure access to pipelines and apply for electrical and natural gas interconnections.
•Ability to build financial models to analyse commercial opportunities and create go/no-go analysis around a series of conditions precedent for funding.
•Support the North American maintenance planning function for safe and efficient work execution
•Work within a Team structure collaboratively and professionally. Professional, timely and well-structured communications with internal and external stakeholders highly valued.
Commercial Support:
•Not just engineering, ability to participate in all phases of project development.
•Working within the Commercial Team, ability to be involved in contract development and execution.
Engineering:
•Understand site conditions and develop site lease parcel information.
•Work with Fuels Team to assess LFG and/or Biogas Supply for all constituents.
•Develop Gas System Capital Improvement Plan for review and approval by Landfill owner
•Develop Pipeline Interconnection strategy and ensure facility design will be able to meet pipeline gas specifications.
•Work with EPC Contractor to develop Basis of Design for facilities that can achieve the pipeline specification.
•Analyse and review Basis of Design to ensure assumptions for CAPEX and OPEX within the financial model can be achieved.
•Review Design with EPC and Lead EDL’s team through Haz-Ops.
•Work with both internally assigned Project Manager and EPC Project and Construction Managers during physical construction, ensuring safe construction practices, protection of wetlands and requirements of construction permitting, and update Sr. Management weekly on the triple constraint of Dollars, Scope and Time.
•Identify and participate in continuous improvement and training on equipment, instrumentation, etc. in accordance with industry standards (ASME, API, etc.)
General:
•Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations.
•Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.
•In addition to the duties set out above, the Operations Optimization and Support Lead may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent experience)
•5+ years Landfill Gas System Construction and/or O&M Experience
•5+ years in RNG Design and/or construction with either Developer or EPC.
•Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
Preferred:
•Project Management Professional (PMP)
•Ability to implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma methodologies a plus)
•Knowledge of landfill operations
