The Financial Reporting Director will play a fundamental role within MN8 upon which the team’s success is dependent. You will lead the external financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations and will partner closely with Accounting, Consolidations, Technical Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, Treasury, Investments and Strategies, Corporate Communications and other teams to ensure proper implementation of accounting guidance and ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial statements.
As the Financial Reporting Director, you will:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of AICPA financial statements with footnotes
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation (in a potential post-IPO-state environment) of SEC financial statements with footnotes and MD&A in quarterly 10-Qs and annual 10-Ks
- Oversee other SEC filings as needed (Annual Proxy, 8-Ks and registration statements)
- Oversee the preparation of standalone financial statements and footnotes for over 30 tax equity and/or debt compliance purposes
- Review financial statement work papers and source data
- Work with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Ensure compliance with MN8’s internal controls environment including SOX compliance
- Coordinate with consolidations team on monthly/quarterly/annual consolidations
- Monitor and remain informed on new and proposed accounting and regulatory developments, including but not limited to items issued by the SEC, FASB and PCAOB
- Oversee financial reporting and compliance requirements for shareholders and investors
- Coordinate and work closely with Corporate communications team on investor reporting requirements, including ESG reporting
- Support Treasury team with lender compliance reporting requirements
- Assist in fast-paced provision of investor / deal required documents
- Lead staff development, manage the Financial reporting team as well as cross-functional team in collaboration with peer directors
- Lead or assist with special projects on an ad-hoc or as requested basis
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 10+ years of Financial/SEC reporting experience or public accounting (Big Four preferred)- Renewables industry experience a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and experienced in leading a team
- Enhanced technical writing and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as within a team environment
- Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed
- Experience with any or all of OneStream, Workiva, Yardi, Oracle and/or Hyperion will be a plus
- CPA desired
