to join our team in Irvine, California.

This is a

hybrid

role, with a combination of remote work and on-site presence at our Irvine office.

Summary

Are you ready to lead the charge in innovation and engineering excellence? As the Director of Engineering, you'll spearhead our engineering teams, driving the development of Vericut’s core products. Your mission: to craft an engineering roadmap that aligns seamlessly with our product objectives and strategic vision. You'll be pivotal in defining our technical direction, executing strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge software products that delight Vericut users. This role is all about building and leading cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with our broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities Engineering Leadership

Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary engineering team dedicated to designing, developing, and optimizing Vericut’s core products.


Strategic Planning & Vision

Define and execute a visionary technical roadmap that aligns with company goals, industry trends, and customer needs.
Prioritize and deliver engineering initiatives that drive value for Vericut and its customers.
Develop and execute an engineering roadmap that supports Vericut’s broader product goals and Sandvik’s strategic initiatives.
Champion Agile methodology principles to implement strategies effectively.


Product Development & Optimization

Oversee the creation of innovative software products, ensuring they are optimized for performance, scalability, and manufacturability.
Guarantee solutions meet the highest quality standards while fulfilling customer requirements.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support teams to ensure alignment between product roadmaps, customer needs, and engineering execution.
Work with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure technical aspects of product offerings meet market demands.


Team Development & Mentorship

Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams by fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration.
Implement effective recruitment, training, and performance management practices to build and retain top-tier engineering talent.
Provide hands-on technical leadership, driving innovation and technical excellence across R&D teams.


Process Improvement & Best Practices

Drive continuous process improvements using agile methodologies and industry best practices to enhance development efficiency and product quality.
Establish rigorous code quality, testing, and release management processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Stay updated with the latest AI and Data Engineering trends and apply this expertise to improve team performance and product quality.


Technical Leadership & Problem-Solving

Provide hands-on technical leadership, guiding engineering teams through complex challenges and ensuring high technical standards across product design, development, and testing.
Be a trusted resource for solving critical engineering problems.


Budget and Resource Management

Manage engineering budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Balance competing priorities effectively to ensure resources are optimally allocated across strategic initiatives.


Required Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field.
5-7+ years of proven experience in engineering leadership roles, with a track record of managing and delivering software products.
Strong background in software development and engineering, particularly with a focus on optimization algorithms, verification tools, and manufacturing systems.
Demonstrated ability to define and execute long-term engineering strategies that align with broader business objectives.
Experience in navigating complex technical and business challenges while driving innovation.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong presentation and documentation skills for internal and external audiences.
Experience working in agile environments and implementing agile methodologies to optimize development processes and ensure timely product delivery.
Deep understanding of the manufacturing industry’s challenges and how our software solutions can drive operational efficiencies and product innovation.


Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with common software development tools and technologies (e.g., C++, Java, Python), and experience with scripting languages, debugging, and optimization.
Experience with large-scale system architecture and deployment in manufacturing environments.
Background in simulation, digital twin technology, or similar manufacturing optimization techniques is a plus.

Pay range : $168k - $250K (base + target bonus of 20%).
