The Director of Capital Projects and Planning is responsible for leading the development, execution, and governance of capital projects across the organization. This includes overseeing feasibility studies, project planning, budgeting, engineering, procurement, and construction activities. The role ensures that all capital investments align with the company's strategic objectives, are delivered on time and within budget, and meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The Director also leads the engineering team, including mine planning and project management functions, to ensure technical excellence and operational integration.
Essential Functions•Lead the planning and execution of major capital projects, including mine development, infrastructure, and plant construction.
•Develop and manage long-term capital investment plans in alignment with corporate strategy.
•Oversee project governance, risk management, and compliance with internal and external standards.
•Lead and manage the engineering team, including mine planners and project management functions, to ensure technical excellence and operational integration.
•Ensure technical quality and innovation in engineering design, mine planning, and project execution.
•Collaborate with operations, finance, environmental, and permitting teams to ensure project integration and success.
•Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
•Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario planning for proposed projects.
•Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
•Implement project management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
•Ensure total project completion from idea conception to successful transition to operations functions.

Education Qualifications
•Required High School or Equivalent
•Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience Qualifications
•Required 8+ years experience in capital project management.
•Required 5+ years experience in a senior leadership role within the mining or materials sectors.
Skills And Abilities
•Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects on time and within budget.
•Strong knowledge of mine planning, engineering design, and project execution methodologies.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
•Ability to work, communicate and collaborate across all functions of the aggregates industry.
•Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
•PMP or equivalent project management certification, preferred.
•Experience with both greenfield and brownfield mining projects, preferred.
•Familiarity with ESG and sustainability considerations in capital planning, preferred.
•Knowledge of permitting and regulatory processes in mining jurisdictions, preferred.
