We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Capital Projects to lead the planning, development, and execution of major capital initiatives across multiple business units. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while aligning with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, a solid understanding of maintenance operations, and proven success in leading complex, cross-functional projects.
- Lead and oversee all phases of capital projects including initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Collaborate with multiple business units to identify project requirements, objectives, and timelines.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively.
- Coordinate the annual capital budgeting process, working closely with finance and business unit leaders to prioritize and allocate funding.
- Ensure the annual capital plans are executed on time and that the full approved budget is utilized effectively.
- Coordinate closely with plant operations teams to ensure that project implementation has minimal impact on production activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor project teams and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
- Oversee contractor selection and manage vendor relationships.
- Utilize project management tools and software to track performance and outcomes.
- Implement continuous improvement practices and lessons learned from completed projects.
- Report for work on time and fulfill your shift responsibilities as planned.
- Complete all responsibilities during your assigned shift as outlined in the schedule.
- Engage respectfully with coworkers, fostering teamwork and mutual respect.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital project management, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, utilities, or infrastructure environment.

- Demonstrated experience managing projects across multiple departments or business units.

- Maintenance or facilities management background is a significant plus.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
- Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
- Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
